Shaper Hub
Product Strategy | UX DESIGN
The core offering—Shaper Origin—is a hand-held router
steered by a smart-phone sized guidance system. A user
uploads a .svg file and guides the router's cursor within
a general guide shown on the display, and the tool
keeps the cutting bit on track, making even and consistent
precision cuts or engraving.

The design challenge
Shaper was a small start-up that historically had staffed industrial designers and mechanical engineers but had never worked with digital product, UI, or visual designers. The physical products were fastidiously designed
and developed over 4 years, but the onboard UI and web experience lacked the same level of quality.
Shaper was also looking to quickly develop and launch
a file management and collaborative project sharing
platform from scratch.
